If you like Brazilian food, this is the place to go! The food at this viking style restaurant was excellent and plentiful. The cost for us about 1800 yen each, a good price for dinner we thought. It is a great place to go as a family or a church group. Last Friday evening Hatsumi, Shizuko, Kathi, Nana ( a friend of Shizuko ), Kelly, Ruthanne, Elisha and I enjoyed great food and fellowship. Please try it out if you are in the area. There are two in Hamamatsu and one it Aichi ken and another in Mie ken.

Kaku san tells me this restaurant is well known but.... I had never heard of it before. hmmm Then we visited the Fowler's church in Hamamatsu to pick up some lighting for True Note and discovered they had never heard of it either! And they live in Hamamatsu!!

For those of you who like viewing crafts, I highly recommend this pottery gallery. It is nestled in the mountains of Kanaya. The pottery there is made by a potter of 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hasegawa, the owners, were very gracious to Kathi and I when we visited a couple weeks ago. Not only did we enjoy viewing the pottery but we were treated to tea and cake on the veranda of their home overlooking the mountains and valley in Kanaya. The scenery also included their beautiful yard full of wild flowers and herbs raised by Mrs. Hasegawa. I hope many of you will enjoy a visit to this haven in nearby Kanaya.

One of the best movies our family has ever seen! We were spellbound. Like "the Hiding Place". it is a true story of the power of forgiveness. It is the story of the former dean of the chapel of Princeton University who was in a Japanese prisoner of War camp.This movie will also give you insight into Japanese thinking and you will see the bewilderment in the eyes of the Japanese soldiers as they witness the power of God's love and forgiveness demonstrated by some of the solders. you will also seethe results of vengeance.

An excellent book! I just finished reading this book. I found it to be a very practical and eye-opening book on friendship. This book studies 3 friendships in the Bible. One very clear idea is that we need each other.
